We were recently acknowledged by the Louisiana State Department of Education as being a "Top Gains" School. This recognition is based on our students' exceptional rate of academic growth. We are so proud of our students and teachers! In fact, we were so excited about our success that we had a week long celebration. Check out the photos from our wonderful week.

Pre-K & Kindergarten Roundup Update...
Important Information Regarding Registration for the 2019-2020 School Year:
There have been changes made to how parents should register their Pre-K children. We very recently received information that our district is not having us participate in any kind of Pre-K or Kindergarten Roundup this year. Instead, all applications will be submitted online. This is great news for many families. You can apply in the convenience of your own home. The process is easy…simply click on the link below and you will be taken directly to the “Caddo Smart Start” online portal. Once there, simply create an account, complete the online application and upload the required documents. For those of you who do not own a scanner…no worries! Once you have created an account and answered the questions, the online portal will allow you to sign into your account from any smart phone device. Simply login, take a picture of your document and upload it to the appropriate link. It’s just that easy. The deadline for submissions is April 30. It’s important to apply as soon as possible since acceptance is sometimes dependent upon the date the application was submitted. If you need assistance, call our office and one of the administrators will be more than happy to schedule a time to sit with you and walk you through the process. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at 865-5675.
In a similar manner as Pre-K, upcoming kindergarten students will be registered through an online portal by a parent or legal guardian. The Kindergarten Registration Portal will not be available until May 1st. Beginning on this date, parents, who live in our district, may register their child for the upcoming school year. This process will take the place of Kindergarten Roundup. Simply click on the link below and you will be taken directly to the registration portal. As with Pre-K, if you do not have access to a scanner, simply log into your account from any smart phone device, take a picture of your document and upload it to the appropriate link. It’s just that easy. If you need assistance with this process, feel free to contact our office.

Mrs. Robinson's Class Celebrates Vocabulary Success
Mrs. Robinson promotes great vocabulary usage with her students in a unique way. Each time a word is taught to the students, they are encouraged to use the words in their everyday communication with one another. Each time the words are used in correct context, Mrs. Robinson allows them to pull a stick from her Kerplunk Game. When all of the marbles fall in the game, they celebrate their vocabulary success by having some type of special treat. This week was cotton candy!! Way to go Pre-K!! Keep up the great work!
Our A.C. Steere Cheerleaders and Mascot won second place at this year's Cheerleading Competition. Congratulations to this amazing squad. Special thanks to their dedicated sponsor, Kim McInnis and her side kick, Coach Tate. Ya'll ROCK!
